Healthy tiffin delivery (pinto in Thai) means you pay ahead for a week or a month, and a kitchen cooks and delivers your meals every day. It suits people who are home or at work at set times and want freshly cooked food daily. Frozen packs arrive several meals at a time, go in the freezer and are heated one meal at a time, which suits people with unpredictable schedules. Tiffin prices vary by shop. CleanFit packs average ฿44.3–50 per meal, for the main dish without rice.

What is healthy tiffin delivery, and how does it work?

A tiffin service is a meal subscription. You pay ahead for a number of days or meals, and the shop delivers on the agreed days. A healthy tiffin works the same way, with menus built around protein and vegetables and lighter seasoning. In Thai it is called phuk pinto, after the stacked metal food carrier.

Details vary a lot. Some shops deliver lunch only, others lunch and dinner. Some set the week's menu for you, others let you choose. Some include rice and some do not. Read the terms in full before you pay.

The option people usually compare it with is frozen meal packs: several meals delivered at once, kept in the freezer and heated one at a time, with no need to wait for a delivery every day.

Tiffin delivery vs frozen packs: what is the difference?

The main differences are how often you receive food, and how flexible each option is when plans change. Taste and quality depend more on the shop than on the format.

How do you compare healthy tiffin delivery prices fairly?

Do not look only at the promotional price. Work out the price per meal you actually eat. Tiffin prices differ a lot between shops, so we do not quote other shops' numbers here. Use this formula with the prices you are offered.

Real price per meal = (subscription + delivery + rice if not included) ÷ meals you actually eat

  • Count only meals you really eat. If you pay for 20 but eat 16, because of work or a forgotten pause, your real price per meal is 25% higher
  • Check whether rice is included. Comparing a tiffin with rice to a main dish without rice makes the numbers look further apart than they are
  • Check whether delivery is included or charged per day
  • Ask about deposits on containers and refunds if you cancel early

21 meals฿1,050฿50
45 meals฿2,130฿47.3
90 meals (can be split into 2 deliveries)฿3,990฿44.3
Website prices, for the main dish without rice. Pork and noodle dishes cost ฿10 more per meal, fish and shrimp ฿15 more. Delivery depends on your address and is shown before you pay

Freshness and food safety: what should you watch with each?

Cooked food is safe in both formats as long as it stays at the right temperature. The weak point for tiffin is the time food sits at your door or on your desk. For frozen food, it is the time after delivery.

  • USDA FSIS advises that perishable food should not sit at room temperature for more than 2 hours, or 1 hour above 32°C. Thailand is often that hot
  • If a tiffin arrives well before you eat, put it in the fridge, then heat it until hot all the way through
  • Put frozen food in the freezer as soon as it arrives. CleanFit meals keep for 120 days in the freezer, and once moved to the fridge, eat them within 5–7 days
  • With both, heat only the meal you will eat, and make sure the middle is hot

If nobody is home on delivery day, a tiffin sits waiting, and so does a frozen pack, so choose a day when someone is in. In Bangkok and nearby provinces we deliver by Lalamove every day except Saturday, and you can choose a time slot. Other provinces get temperature-controlled DHL delivery, Monday to Friday. Check your delivery date with your postal code.

Tiffin or frozen packs: which suits whom?

Neither is better in every case. See which list sounds more like you.

Daily tiffin delivery suits people who

  • Are at home or at work at set times, with someone to receive food every day
  • Prefer freshly cooked food and would rather not use a microwave
  • Have no freezer, or a very small one
  • Are happy for the shop to choose the menu

Frozen packs suit people who

  • Finish work at different times, travel often, or have days they do not eat at home
  • Want to choose every dish and know the calories and protein in each meal
  • Want backup meals in the freezer without waiting for daily deliveries
  • Live in a province where tiffin services do not deliver

Some people use both: a tiffin on weekdays, with frozen dishes for days the tiffin does not come or they get home late. CleanFit has 38 dishes, each with calories and protein shown. See the menu, or read how to store and reheat them in frozen meal prep. If you would rather cook ahead yourself, see meal prep. Every dish is made with no cooking oil, no MSG, no added sugar and no preservatives, is Thai FDA approved, and has lab-tested nutrition.

What should you ask before signing up for a tiffin or a pack?

Ask everything before you pay, so there are no surprises later. A general checklist for choosing a service is in how to choose a clean food delivery service.

  1. How many calories, and how much protein, carbs and fat, are in each meal? Do the numbers include rice?
  2. What time is delivery, and where will food be left if nobody is in?
  3. Can I choose dishes? How often does the menu repeat?
  4. Can I pause or move a delivery, and how much notice do you need?
  5. Is there a container deposit? How do refunds work if I cancel early?
  6. If I have a food allergy, can I see the ingredients?

CleanFit's answers: every dish shows calories and protein on the website. Each meal is the main dish without rice, and you choose every meal yourself. To change a delivery date, message us on LINE @cleanfit or Messenger at least 1 day before delivery. Website packs start at 21 meals. To try the taste first, there is a 9-meal trial pack for ฿540, available by chat only.

Frequently asked questions

How much does healthy tiffin delivery cost?

It varies a lot by shop, number of meals, and whether rice and delivery are included. Compare using the price per meal you actually eat. CleanFit frozen packs average ฿44.3–50 per meal for the main dish without rice, plus delivery based on your address.

My tiffin arrives in the morning. Can I keep it for lunch?

Yes, if you keep it in the fridge. USDA FSIS advises not leaving cooked food at room temperature for more than 2 hours, or 1 hour above 32°C. Heat it until hot all the way through before eating.

Nobody is home every day to receive a tiffin. What should I choose?

Frozen packs are probably a better fit. One delivery gives you many meals that wait in the freezer, so nothing goes to waste on days you are out.

Is frozen food as fresh as a tiffin?

A tiffin has the edge on being cooked fresh each day. Food that is cooked and then frozen straight away keeps its calories and protein almost unchanged. Some vegetables may be softer than when just cooked, which is normal for frozen food.

Can I change the delivery date for a frozen pack?

With CleanFit, yes. Message LINE @cleanfit or Messenger at least 1 day before delivery. The 90-meal pack can also be split into 2 deliveries.
